VHS is the acronym for Video Home System. It was developed in Japan, 1976 and came to North America in 1977. What made VHS so popular was the rental market, remember going to a store to rent a movie on VHS format? It was a staple tech product in the 80s and 90s, so naturally people where making home movies with friends and families. Weddings, birthdays, vacations, and all memories we recorded to treasure in the future.
However, with years of use and storage, all mediums loose quality including VHS tapes. Common issues include colour fringing on the edges, blurry, and noisy image. Digitizing VHS will not only preserve your movies but may also correct some of these image problems. As a result, you may have a better quality for your video.
Improve and Protect Your Memories
At Azure Production, we have over a decade of experience. We are committed to provide you with an efficient, reliable and confidential VHS conversion service. We have a three step process. First we start by inspecting the tape, we’re very meticulous with our process. We search for any tape tear, mold and casing damages.
Second, we check for exposure and audio levels using video scopes on our analogue formats. We then take an average of these levels and will then start the conversion process. On the final output we will implement a three point checking system in which we watch the beginning, middle and end of the file for several seconds to look for any technical anomalies.
Thirdly, we move your video onto an external hard drive, USB key or we share it to you on Google Drive so you can directly download it to your device.
In order to have the best end result, you need the right knowledge and equipment. It’s more budget friendly for you to have us digitize your VHS tape, instead of purchasing the equipment to do it yourself because consumer products cannot match our Blackmagic standards video converter. With our experience and understanding of the technology, you can rest assured the final result will look professional. These are memories that can’t be replaced, so we take good care of them.
