Every year in late summer, the Toronto International Film Festival brings a ton of celebrities to our city to help promote their new films. This year, TIFF showcased over 300 different movies from 60 countries.
Tiff brings a huge influx of celebrities to Toronto and helps the makers of independent films get the word out. Some films that went on to become absolutely huge and win Oscars had their premiere at the Toronto International Film Film Festival, including American Beauty, 127 Hours, Black Swan, Ray, Precious, Slumdog Millionaire and the King’s Speech.
Every year the National Post publishes a full list of the actors, actresses and filmmakers that are scheduled to appear at the Toronto International Film Festival, and you can see the list of all of the celebrities who came to this year’s TIFF here:

The Toronto International Film Festival is considered one of the best film festivals available to filmmakers because it is not as competitive, there is a huge audience for their films, it’s in late summer (which is convenient for many of those with busy schedules) and it is less expensive than going to Europe.
Did you have any star sightings at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival? Did you catch any of the films? Let us know! We would love to hear about your Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) experiences.
