One of the major problems with VHS, or video tapes, is that they degrade over time. Not only that, but they wear out with frequent use. If your child has a favourite Disney movie on tape that they love to play over and over, there is actually a chance that they can wear out that copy. These copies can at least be replaced (for the most part, or at least with a brand new DVD), but home videos of precious memories like weddings or child birth cannot (all the more reason to have your home videos transfered to DVD!).
